Social Media, Blogging and Websites

In utilising social media, blogging and websites, schools, educators and pupils take positive risks.

It’s all about student engagement. Pupils use technology to connect what they are learning with the real world. When their work is published to a broader community pupils can easily see one another's work, rate and comment on it. When using social media they feel like their teachers are finally interested in speaking their language. Teachers are often astounded at the resulting conversations, ideas, and voices shared that would never have emerged had it not been for the integration of social media.

Social media gives pupils the power to be in and of their world and have the ability to interact with those in the field doing the work they are learning about.
